The Power of Scripture

Today I start a 3-series blog in the power of scripture. As a Spiritual/Life Coach I bring in scripture to help guide those I coach. I do this because I believe it is a powerful tool to help people govern their lives well. The Bible, says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

First, you can see that the words in the Bible are “God-breathed.” This means that the words you read in the Bible are from God to you. He found a way to impart His words to those who wrote them so that you could know what the creator of the universe, the creator of your life wants you to know and do. How wonderful it is that God has given this powerful resource for you to use to help you to live wisely.

Second, you see that it is useful for teaching. The Bible has so much to say to you whatever you are going through. The Bible tells you that God cares deeply about your loss as we see Jesus weep over the loss of a friend (John 11:35). The Bible also tells you that God is there to comfort you and to help you use this comfort to comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). If you are having trouble moving forward in your life, read Philippians 3:13-14. Let the Bible teach you how to govern your life better.
